This piece is a bold, monochromatic portrait, executed in varying shades of blue. The face is centrally positioned, with a strong emphasis on the eyes.  The use of various hues of blue provides contrast among the dark shadows, midtones, and lighter values of the painting, creating a somber, calming aura.

This piece is study in contradiction.  The gentleman pictured is depicted in the colors of desert camouflage - tones of browns and tans - a pattern that is usually intended to hide.  But the subject is clearly not hiding, quite the opposite.  You could say that he is hiding in plain sight.

This image should need no introduction.  I did a series of paintings in black, gray, and white that recalled images and moments in time of my childhood.  "The Shining" is still among my favorites of all time.

The colors palette used in this portrait are representative of those associated with Mars: Deep crimson and bright red.  When mixed with the golden light of the sun, an orange tone is added.
